Ten years ago, when I first began teaching, Character Education was starting to make inroads into the curriculum. The value of explicitly teaching important qualities and traits that are admired by the population was becoming more apparent. For students to learn the behaviour, not only did we have to model and live the behaviour, we also had to talk about it.
